Umami Sazerac

Overview

The Umami Sazerac is a cocktail from Red Frog in Lisbon. I found the recipe online and have been working to recreate it at home. This is a work in progress and your success may vary.

Ingredients

  1. 1.5oz (35g) Bulleit Rye
  2. 1.5oz (35g) Black Sesame Cognac
  3. 0.5oz Shoyu Caramel
  4. Several Sprays Absinthe

Instructions

  1. Generously spray a chilled rocks glass with absinthe.
  2. Combine the Rye, Black Sesame Cognac, and Shoyu Caramel in a mixing glass with ice.
  3. Stir until well chilled, approximately 30 seconds.
  4. Strain into the prepared glass neat.
